Here at Hunter, fashion plays as much of a role in students' lives as academics, work and extracurricular activities. In a random sample of Hunter matriculates, you can expect to find a thrift store junkie, a Juicy Couture fanatic, a goth with green hair, a 72-year old in Ralph Lauren, a girl sporting spandex, a boy sporting spandex, a 72-year-old sporting spandex … and so on.
If New York is the fashion capital of the world, Hunter is arguably a microcosm of the most imaginative trends and ideas found in the chicest cities. At The Envoy, we want to capitalize on this ingenuity and capture the innovative looks created by Hunter students.
Our upcoming Lifestyles section will have a column devoted to students' style endeavors and on-campus crazes. Our reporters will seek out the trend setters among us and feature their photographs in every issue. We hope to divulge the look these fashion gods and goddesses were going for, where they shop, how much their ensembles cost, and their wish lists for the upcoming season. We also hope to feature interactive style stashes on our website, which will give you a more comprehensive look into their creative closets.
To all those Hunter students who hope to grace The Envoy's pages, get out your funkiest skirts and sexiest shirts and prepare to be chosen. We are looking for students of any age and of any gender with that je ne sais quoisfor fashion. Captivate us and enjoy your 15 minutes of fame in Hunter's halls of high style.
